We are living through a truly unprecedented moment as a nation. And that moment--with trillions upon trillions in debt deployed for COVID relief and collapsing distinctions between fiscal and monetary policy and governance, coupled with mounting climate-related financial risks--presents an equally unprecedented opportunity to act boldly and shape the contours of a durable economic recovery. The Regenerative Crisis Response Committee will explore what levers exist to steer fiscal and monetary policy toward lasting sustainability. This diverse and unified committee will tell stories, produce and present papers, craft media messaging, and put forth recommendations to respond to immediate crises and shape trajectories as they unfold. Together, we can set guardrails on the truly massive amounts of funding being deployed in response to this crisis, plus put forth recommendations for an equitable strategy for unwinding those assets when the time comes. Framing a discussion that will resonate across various divides, this select committee will articulate principles and priorities for a durable, climate-friendly economic recovery that will set the stage for years to come.
