Asian and Pacific Collaboration center (APCC) was founded in 1998 on the basis of the Saint Petersburg Governor's Order №829-p, dated August 20, 1998, and aimed to development and consolidation of economic, trade, investment, scientific and cultural links of Saint Petersburg with the countries of Asian and Pacific region. In recent decades, the center of business life of the planet has shifted markedly to the East – to the Asian and Pacific Region. Russia, which has a large part of its territory in Asia and access to the Pacific Ocean, is also a part of this region. The Russian economy has undergone significant shifts towards Asia Pacific, and Saint Petersburg city is no exception.Saint Petersburg is one of the largest world centers of international cooperation, possessing rich cultural and historical heritage. It is Russia's largest transport and logistic unit, the largest port on the Baltic Sea. The city has extensive experience and capabilities in power and electrical engineering, shipbuilding and repair, electronics, instruments and power equipment manufacturing, in the field of pharmaceutical, mechanical engineering and metal working, wind energy, light industry, wood processing, producing of sophisticated high-technology science intensive products. For more than fifteen years of fruitful cooperation with Asian and Pacific countries, Asian and Pacific Collaboration Center has the reputation of trust and reliable partner. The number of APCC partners has exceeded one thousand – among which are state authorities, institutions and companies of China, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam. APCC collaborates closely with Russian state authorities, as well as with Russian scientific, industrial, trade companies.
