There's also the time spent recording all the places from your favorite chef on that Netflix show or looking through a city guide on a blog you love. We then cross reference trecs from friends against those from all these other sources. Atlist aggregates all of that information so you can cross reference lists from your friends for say, Tokyo, against that of David Chang's Ugly Delicious show.Sites like Yelp and TripAdvisor are so bogged down by "Sponsored" places and crowdsourced reviews from strangers. It's hard to trust recommendation sites when they include what Bob from Timbuktu thinks of a restaurant in NYC. (Fun fact: a #1 rated London restaurant on TripAdvisor this year was a fake restaurant!) Then there's Facebook Recommendations. We can blast our "friends", who may include our 1st grade teacher, our aunt's best friend and our one college acquaintance who loves Pizza Hut. These aren't really people we would want travel recs from. Most comments in a Recommendation request on Facebook say something along the lines of, "Yes! I have a bunch of recs for this city. I'll email you my doc!"? And so, the problem persists.
