Hello there, my name is Peter Denyer and welcome to Bay Expat. When people ask me to describe myself I always like to say, well I was born American, raised Canadian. From drinking tea (imported from Canada and made properly with a tea kettle and pot) and coffee at the age of 5 and saying sorry more times than I can remember, even when I'm not at fault, you can say I'm not your typical Bay Area Millennial. In this blog I will share my stories adventuring around the world, teaching English, and showcasing my photography. I hope to inspire my readers that if they work hard and follow their passion, they can BE anything they desire.My passion for travel began while studying abroad in Fall of 2016, my senior year at California State University, Chico. After coming home from the North Coast, Basque city of Bilbao, Spain I started planning on how I would return. There are a few ways one can be a world traveler, I originally planned to work in the airline industry, ended up working hospitality for a year until quitting my job to be an English Teacher.Living at home with your parents or paying an average of $2,000 something a month for a one-bedroom in an apartment is a harsh reality in the San Francisco Bay Area. I chose the former and moved back in with my parents after graduation. After getting my first job after graduating from college at a hotel, I started planning and saving for my next adventure. After only one year of saving and living the joys post-grad life in the Bay Area, I was ready to embark on the next adventure, Spain round 2.
