After more than 20 years of experience in the field of software production for banking and insurances, the RGI Group decided to start exploring a new, fascinating and highly innovative market: bioinformatics. To this aim, a process of scouting for projects and people was started, which coagulated in BioDigitalValley, a company dedicated to invent, develop and commercialize new solutions for bio-research, e-health and drug discovery.After the initial start-up phase, the goal of BioDigitalValley is to place RGI within five years in the mainstream of bioinformatics, then being in a consolidated position on the market while benefiting the potential consumer with new, advanced solutions. This vision leads to a two-pronged mission of BioDigitalValley namely: • To provide the information, tools, research, capacity development and solutions to serve the development and exploitation of bioinformatics, drug discovery, e-health and the corresponding services• To ensure that the rapidly accumulating body of information from molecular, high throughput biology and bio-medicine will be translated into highly innovative products.
