CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is central to fulfilling society's most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect and to learn and grow in the safe embrace of a loving family. CASA of Parker County has been working in the community for 6 years but National CASA was established in 1977 by a judge in Seattle, Washington that decided there needed to be someone in the court to speak up for the needs of the child. Now, in 2012, there are CASA offices in 49 states and 75,000 volunteers who serve 240,000 children. Here in Parker County we are glad to be able to say that 100% of children that need a CASA are provided one. We are always looking for new volunteers, so please contact us if you are interested in helping the children of Parker County.
