Contemporary Information Corporation (CIC) was founded in 1986 and began to collect court record data in 1990. Initially focused on eviction abstract data for the West Coast, CIC rapidly expanded to a nationwide footprint which included criminal record data of all types. Soon other consumer reporting agencies (CRA's) wanted to gain access to CIC's databases to serve their multifamily housing clients better – CICData was born. Nearly a decade later, CICData offers the highest quality eviction and criminal data at wholesale prices to a large segment of the tenant screening community.
