Building on the strong partnership between Egypt and Germany in the fields of energy and environment, the Cairo Climate Talks (CCT) were initiated in 2011. Public events and expert workshops provide a platform to exchange experiences, raise awareness and foster cooperation between policymakers, business, the scientific community, and civil society. CCT is a cooperation between the German Embassy in Cairo, the Egyptian Ministry of Environment, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).CCT Junior provides activities on climate change and environmental protection for kids of all ages- The annual CCT Environmental Journalism Award rewards journalist covering environmental topics. The broad network of partners allows CCT to offer diverse events, for diverse audiences and to participate in a number of environmental event.
