Casa-Sci LLC is located in the eastside Seattle suburb of Woodinville and since 2016 has been involved with the development of electronic materials and devices primarily for sensing and energy storage. We work with "mineral-like" materials which are classified as electroceramics. With their unique ability to organize charges and fields within their crystal structure, these materials are ubiquitous in modern technology. The common electroceramics used for electronics and energy storage loose the advantageous properties at temperatures above 200°C. In close cooperation with our commercial and academic partners, Casa-Sci is producing ceramic dielectric devices that offer stable operation to 300°C and above. These dielectrics have a place where electronics are required to operate in the high temperature environments of aerospace. Moreover these same materials are able to store energy well above what common capacitors can achieve now.We lovingly call our lab the "mineral-kitchen" and we are able to quickly iterate through many ceramic compositions in order to optimize properties for a particular application.
