To Squat.Something you learn to do as an expat in China whether you like it or not. A trained eye can tell how long someone's lived in China by the ease at which they can rest in the squatting position. The longer you stay here, the more you too might find yourself squatting from one place to the next. Yet, while we do squat here in the physical sense, we also squat knowing that we'll never truly settle here. As we learn to navigate, survive, and in some ways thrive in this massive country, at the end of the day, we'll always just be squatting a while. Besides… we never really could quite get out feet down flat.
