Scotland's International Dance Film Festival celebrating dance and film in all its wondrous forms!A collaboration between Dance Base and Filmhouse and produced and directed by Steph Wright and from 2011, run through Dance Film HQ Ltd. The unique festival has reached audiences of over 4000 over the years through:● screenings of mainstream and independent and arthouse shorts and features● talks and lectures about the history of dance in film and of dance movements and companies● special events such as breakdance battles● dance workshops where you learn to dance what you see on screen● artwork exhibitions including 3D installations● interactive live dance film performancesThe festival ran for 5 festivals: DANCE:FILM 07, 09, 10. 11 and 13 before wrapping up in 2014. DANCE:FILM was initially funded by Scottish Screen until 2010 and was then personally funded by its director Steph Wright with in kind support from Dance Base and Filmhouse and other delivery partners and sponsors including the Goethe Institut, Cineworld and Cameo. The festival attracted submissions from all over the world and was showcased by Scottish Screen in Cannes in 2009.
