The E.C.C – Emotional Cognitive Coaching method was developed by Dr. Maly Danino, CEO of Nitzan Association. It is an evidence-based method, based on sound theoretical principles affected by psychoanalytical, cognitive, and behavioral theories. The E.C.C is a unique method which aims to change the focus and shift it to the parent, who will become "The patient" rather than his own child. The process focuses on the parent's difficulties, realizing that each parent experiences different emotions and develops different insights and actions.The method holds an integrative approach, influenced by cognitive behavioral psychological theories. It has 3 stages working model: first, the parents share their individual story and openly examine their thoughts and feelings, while the coach mirrors those thoughts and feelings. Following that, the coach assists the parents in comprehending the reasons for their emotions and behavior, so that consequently they can reexamine their thinking and behavioral patterns and restore a sense of control. Finally, the coach and the parents choose a set of actions based on their needs and their child's strengths and weaknesses to undertake so that they can train their child to success.The coaching process perfects skills, reshapes behavior patterns, imparts crises and conflicts and improves relationships in different life cycles. It provides knowledge and tools for empowerment and support in the complex parental coping especially for parents of children with learning disabilities, ADHD, mental, cognitive, physical disabilities, and special needs. The method is being practiced at countries all over the world such as: Israel, US, Latvia, Lithuania and continues to be spread worldwide.
