Engineering World Health DTU is a chapter of the American-founded EWH. It is a student-driven organization with more than 70 members. The vision is to improve healthcare technology in developing countries by using the engineering skills of the members.The organization focuses on sustainability. Instead of donating medical equipment, we focus on repairing life-saving equipment and educating the hospital personnel to maintain the equipment in developing countries. In 2016, EWH DTU established a new Summer Institute in Nepal in collaboration with EWH. The volunteers were trained at a 3 weeks course at DTU. During the summer institute, 280 pieces of equipment worth around 3.8 million DKK were fixed.Simultaneously, we have held workshops in DTU (Denmark) with the purpose of increasing the engineering skills of the students, and helping companies donate in a responsible way.Our ambition is to continuously ensure the students are well prepared, before the Summer Institute. We will further strive to provide EWH related BSc/MSc projects during the whole course in cooperation with selected professors and hopefully some interested companies.You can read more about the organization at http://www.ewh.dtu.dk/
