Eternal-water is a start-up based at the incubator at DTU SKYLAB.Eternal-Water provides a water purifier, which purifies the tap water to a clean drinking source without having PFAS, pesticides and other nuisance factors under, and over government regulated level. It is compact in a way that it easily can be installed under the sink. Our product is innovative with a sustainability agenda – A full flow solution at the cold string.The problem in DenmarkAround 250 years of industry and at least 80 years of pesticide and PFAS use has polluted the biosystem and our ground water.Pesticides and PFAS both pose a big threat to human health. Potential negative effects include: damages to the liver, kidneys and pancreas as well as causing cancer and infertility. If we just look at one pesticide. 34,8 % of drinking water borehole is contaminated with the pesticide DMS, which we know causes cancer. DMS has been forbidden since 2007 - the pollution takes decades to reach the groundwater.In 2022 at least 51% of active drinking water borehole in Denmark had pesticide pollution, with > 13% exceeding legal limits. In addition, PFAS pollution is present in nearly 26% of drillings. Via legislation the Water Plants were obligated to control the limit value on 51 pesticides and 22 PFAS´s but the know of 4700 PFAS and in Denmark 590 pesticides has been used. The numbers above must be seen in relation to how many substances are tested for. Numbers show that if we test for 61 pesticides instead, the pollution rate is 58,5 and 26,4 % exceeding legal limits. Once we have tested and validated our solution, we planned to release our first MVP to households in Denmark.
