The Franklin Parish Library seeks to foster a life-long love of reading in all its patrons, facilitate research and study, to ensure equal access and service to all, and to enrich the parish by providing opportunities for information, education, culture, recreation, inspiration, and imagination. The library further seeks to be a faithful steward of the resources entrusted by the taxpayers of Frank...The Franklin Parish Library seeks to foster a life-long love of reading in all its patrons, facilitate research and study, to ensure equal access and service to all, and to enrich the parish by providing opportunities for information, education, culture, recreation, inspiration, and imagination. The library further seeks to be a faithful steward of the resources entrusted by the taxpayers of Franklin Parish. We currently serve an estimated population of 19,308 according to the United States Census Bureau (2022). Our library is a community-based resource whose general purpose includes:1. Acquiring, organizing, administering, preserving, and making available books, periodicals, DVD's, microfilm displays, and other materials for the communication of ideas that contribute to an enlightened citizenry and enriched personal lives2. Maintaining an up-to-date, non-circulating collection of appropriate reference material3. Assisting individuals to reach personal goals4. Making available library-related programs, events, activities, and exhibitsWe also offer public computers for patron use, printing services, Wi-Fi, and genealogical resources with an ever-growing Franklin Parish historical collection available to our residents so they can search family history or answer questions related to Franklin Parish history.Our Learning Center is a space for educational programs such as the Children's Summer Reading, Adult Summer Reading, events such as veteran's programs, various themed activities throughout the year, and other library programs that we're hoping to begin in the coming year. It's also available for non-profit organizations in our community to use for their meetings or activities when the library is not using the space for an event.
