The Fugees education model consists of five key ingredients that are critical to facilitating successful student development for newcomers:Holistic English acquisition supportA trauma-informed approach to learningCelebrating identity and cultureThe integration of athletics for all — namely soccer, yoga, and martial arts — as an educational toolAn emphasis on music and arts educationProject Teranga is Fugees' newest effort to scale our model by partnering with public school districts and charter networks to design and support newcomer programs. In 2022, Fugees opened the first Teranga Academy with Bowling Green Independent School District (Kentucky).
