The project HU Welcome Tandems brings refugee and Berlin students together into tandems. In addition, there are regularly organized social events and academic seminars for all participants. This enables an exchange of knowledge and experience on equal terms. The aim is to create supportive and personal contacts as well as simplify the access for refugees to Berlin universities. The project is a student initiative which is located at the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM). The student initiative obtains funding from the DAAD as part of the program ‘Welcome – Studierende engagieren sich für Geflüchtete'.
