Hassan Abouseda is a graduate of MIT where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1983 and his Master of Architecture in 1987. Abouseda was a teaching faculty at MIT, The Massachusetts College of Art and Parsons School of Design. In 1999, Abouseda opened his first design practice in New York City, which became known as a boutique design studio specializing in cutting edge architecture, interior, landscape, and furniture design.In 2009 Abouseda moved back to Egypt and established Hassan Abouseda Architects, HAA. At HAA, our primary focus is our client's dreams and goals. We devote all our creativity and innovative thinking in order to arrive at design solutions that delight and inspire. At the same time, we are committed to doing so within budget and on schedule. While we pride ourselves on thinking "outside the box" we are also very respectful of the physical and social context in which our buildings are to exist. Our aesthetic is equally inspired by the Modernist movement as it is by traditional, vernacular, Egyptian architecture. Since we usually design everything from architecture to furniture, we believe that excellence in the design must be present all the way from the big of concepts to the smallest of details. In order to give each project our full, undivided attention, we limit the number of projects we take at any given time. We will also choose quality over quantity.Our projects range from a country club on 8 acres and a commercial hub for SODIC, to luxury private villas, all the way to small outlets for a fast-food chain. As part of Al Ismaelia Company's project for the revitalization of downtown Cairo, we just completed the restoration of Cinema Radio and the shopping arcade attached to it. For this project, we had to immerse ourselves in the architectural vocabulary of the Art Deco period, while at the same time finding innovative solutions to meet the demands of the 21st century.
