HOOVER BLUE THUNDER SWIM TEAM, a 501(c)(3) OrganizationMission Statement: The purpose of the organization known as HBT shall be to provide a healthy environment for the development of young people through the sport of competitive swimming by encouraging good sportsmanship, teaching stroke skills and techniques, and assisting in the development of strong healthy bodies, building self-confidence, self-esteem, discipline, and developing high ideals of character- attributes to benefit these young people throughout their entire lives.Hoover Blue Thunder (HBT) is the top performing mid-sized swim team in the greater Birmingham area and has an impressive track record. The team currently holds the Southeastern title in the Medium Division in both Short Course and Long Course. HBT has swimmers earning Junior National Qualifying times. HBT also holds the Senior County Title this year as well. Under the direction of Coach Rick Moulton, HBT has consistently developed top swimmers in the area. A number of swimmers from HBT have gone on to swim successfully at a college level.
