Hope for Children and Women Foundation envision a society where women and children are empowered, healthy and free from oppression, injustice and poverty. HCAWFO was established to serve women and children who are most in need. South Sudan's civil war and the economic crisis resulted into a shortage of well-equipped; community facilities, structures, poor facilities and inadequate trained healthcare workers, social workers and teachers. With poor road conditions, and under resourced health system, many women and children do not receive timely and quality care. South Sudan has an extremely high maternal, infant and child mortality rate. Most of the deaths could be prevented with mass education program of preventative health and early management of infectious conditions and basic treatment. In addition, lack of access to WASH services and food insecurity contributed to high child mortality. The ration of health workers to health facilities is extremely low and consequently, the health needs of women and children are vastly unmet. HCAWFO make a profound impact on the lives of women and children and provide services for those who couldn't afford it. We work toward achieving quality, respectful and equitable services to all women and children by working with communities, governments and partners to create awareness and mobilize communities to take action. We're increasingly becoming a leading national agency in the sectors of Health, Education, protection, WASH, FSL and economic wellbeing. HCAWFO is founded and run by the South Sudanese Nationals, with deep roots and understanding of the communities we live and work in. We are uniquely committed and dedicated to serve the needs of the marginalized people of the South Sudan. Despite the fact that we are relatively small in size, our reputation for and providing quality services, respecting their culture to meet community's needs, has given us an opportunity to seek strategic partnerships with strong change makers.
