Initiatives for Married Adolescent Girls' Empowerment (IMAGE) is an innovative and integrated initiative to address the issues of Early Married Girls (EMGs) in the Karnataka state of India. Funded by Terre des Hommes - Netherlands (TdH-NL) and Comic Relief Fund, the project is being implemented by a consortium in 15 selected districts of Karnataka where child marriage is highly prevalent. IMAGE supports and empowers women by preventing child marriages in selected regions, providing educational and vocational training, creating health awareness, protecting them from gender-based violence and facilitating social protection by giving Civic IDs and entitlements. The project also organises the girls into a movement to fight against child marriages and its issues through advocacy, life skills training and leadership building.
