Kerala Samajam of Greater New York was established in 1972 by a group of Malayalees who came to the United States earlier than the current Malayalee population and had settled in Greater New York Metro area. The goal of this organization was to reate an organization to welcome new Malayalees and help them settle in the United States, find employment and nurture their language and culture in America, far away from their homeland.
