Kusala Carpets is a social carpet industry that will provide jobs to the displaced people of Selang Camp, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal. This camp is located in a district very much affected by the earthquakes last year. At this moment, the displaced people in this area are fully dependent on what NGOs bring to their camp. Kusala Carpets is building a carpet factory close to this camp so that people experienced in weaving carpets can start earning money again in order to make their own living and become independent. At the same time, all profits made by Kusala Carpets will be invested back into the community, for instance by improving the school and healthcare facilities.
