At LASCO Chin Foundation (LCF), we believe that all our youth matter and have the potential to become productive, well-intentioned members of our society. We, therefore, aim to change the way Jamaica views and treats its most vulnerable young people, by empowering them with the tools they need to succeed in life generally, and business in particular.In keeping with the shared goals embodied by Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our approach to poverty and crime reduction is guided by our Sustainable Socio-Economic Intervention (SSI) Model which is comprised of two distinct arms:SSI Entrepreneurship Programme: characterised by learn-as-you-earn entrepreneurial training and opportunities to generate income in an intensive street vending programme andSSI Schooling Support Programme: a long-term intervention model designed to support at-risk youths, from as early as 10 years of age, to make successful journeys from primary school to high school to collegeWe partner with several local, regional and international churches; governmental and non-governmental organizations; community and civic groups and private sector organizations to enhance the scale and effectiveness of our support.Only by targeting these goals TOGETHER can we see lasting change.
