Who?The Lost in the Forest Institute (litfi) is group of design educators, graduates and industry professionals who are exploring the idea that design students of all ages could learn in different ways.Why?Well, as it stands students are educated in the spirit of ‘employee'. We want litfi to educate students in the spirit of being their own boss and stimulate them to become more entrepreneurial and critical in their thinking, values, plans for future work and the society they want to live in.How?Through an immersive experiential learning programme (learning by doing) we expect students to develop a strong voice, optimism, a reduced fear of making mistakes or failing, resourcefulness and the skills to think for themselves – even if they are employees rather than owners of their own companies – all values we believe go toward defining the term ‘industry ready'.We don't pretend to have all the answers, just lots of questions (we're all lost in the forest, too) so we'll be using this website to record our journey – from setting up to working through our first project with a group of Creative and Media Diploma students from Stockport College.Thanks for dropping in.
