Launched in 2012 North West Blood Bikes (Lancashire and Lakes) is a volunteer led organisation that specialises in the transportation and delivery of urgent emergency supplies to NHS hospitals throughout the northwest of England.Our volunteers complete thousands of missions every month delivering blood, platelets, donor breast milk, patient notes and samples. If it can be carried by motorcycle, we can deliver it for free to save our NHS hospitals millions of pounds.Our service operates throughout the night and 24 hours a day at weekends and bank holidays enabling clinicians throughout the northwest to focus on delivering the emergency care their patients need with the correct supplies and tools at hand no matter the time of day.
