The Oncology Care Association Foundation; OCA Foundation was set up five years ago by a group of senior oncologists in Mumbai who were struggling to provide good cancer care to their patients. These doctors are highly trained from Tata Memorial Hospital and in practice for several years. However due to lack of funds they could often not complete treatment for many of their poorer patients. They were also receiving some funding and help from friends, family and other well- wishers and wanted to do their charitable work in a more organised way.
