Oak Park Friends School is one of the fast growing schools in the Oak Park area. Focusing on individualized care for children 6 weeks through 12 years old, we aim to serve the whole family by aiming to be the village for each family; helping them to navigate the hard task of raising a child today. We do this by providing a child centered play based curriculum that is ever evolving based upon the children in the room. We allow for an abundance of free and exploitative play both inside and outside of the building, as well as creating engaging activities allowing for deeper exploration and evoking a child's natural curiosity. Our goal is to honor each child and celebrate their natural curiosity and gifts that they have been given.We are currently in the process of exploring the creation of a micro school to serve children 6 to 12 full day, using similar curriculum to what we have developed for our 5 and under groups. Though we are loosely based on Talley's Quaker education and upbringing, we are not officially associated with the Society of Friends (Quakers).
