OCHMRT is a public safety special operations response team providing Hazmat/WMD emergency response to 30+ communities in Oakland County, Michigan. Membership includes 40 hazmat technicians, specialists, and officers from multiple participating fire departments, police departments, and public safety agencies. The team is sponsored and funded by the Oakland County Fire Mutual Aid Association (MABAS Division 3201). The hazmat team serves as a Regional Response Team (RRT) for the State of Michigan, providing Statewide response for major hazmat/WMD incidents, when requested by the Michigan State Police.
