One Hour For Life (OHL) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2011. Our scope is simple, yet substantial: to provide health education and support that will create sustainable healthcare worldwide. OHL's programs are customized to fit local needs and account for socio-economic and cultural awareness. Our audience-tailored interventions provide evidence-based training, resources, education and/or continuing support for those in need. At One Hour For Life, we believe that knowledge, demonstrated understanding, and action based on knowledge are the fundamentals of a healthier life. Our all-volunteer team is comprised of clinical professionals and students, teachers, scientists and business specialists. Based in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah, we work around the corner and around the world. In the Salt Lake Valley, we partner with the Glendale Community Learning Center and the Asian Refugee Association. While we love our work teaching the families in these two communities, it is also our team who learns so much from them. In addition to the local endeavors, 2015 will mark our second year of sending medical students to our partner hospitals and clinics in Ethiopia! OHL Founder Ira Kraft initiated these collaborations in 2011, and every year since, our relationships in and around Addis Ababa have grown and evolved. This year's team of 9 women from the University of Utah and Pacific Northwest University will continue the on-going projects from last year, as well as initiate 2 new ones.
