They have seen an in...Through recent changes in the law such as the enactment of LB561 on 05.29.2013 and LB464 on 04.15.2014 and the initiative of THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD with University of Nebraska, their adolescents and the justice system has been impacted in various ways/needs. In Scottsbluff and the surrounding areas, there are deficits in treatment for their adolescents and their families. They have seen an increase of youth involved with the justice system in needing substance abuse, mental health, education, support, and parenting/family dynamics counseling and treatment. Office of Probation is currently reviewing “request for qualifications” to identify ways the community can improve family services. OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC believes in collaborative work within the community, schools and families to assist the adolescent and family to identify and address deficits that are present to be resolved. OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC provides direct services to the adolescent in the form of substance abuse, mental health and family counseling through outpatient therapy groups, family therapy, treatment team meetings, and individual sessions. OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC will employ mental health and substance abuse professionals with a wide variety of specializations such as grief/loss, trauma, and dual disorders. OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC works with paraprofessionals who are degreed in criminal justice, psychology, and/or social work to go into family homes to provide family support. On December 12, 2014, OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC was approached by District 12 Probation to develop and facilitate Day and Evening Reporting for the adolescence who will need the services. This will include the Homework Club and credit recovery for school. OPEN DOOR COUNSELING, LLC facilitate services to all who are referred through parole, probation and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) with identified needs.
