Open Internet Tools Project (OpenITP) incubates and supports open-source projects that create anti-surveillance and anti-censorship tools. These tools enable citizens to communicate directly and freely with each other, on their own terms.OpenITP builds infrastructures that facilitate the circumvention tech community’s ability to improve the user experience (UX), security, and localization of tools; provides grants to improve existing tools, create new tools, or improve the training, documentation or ecosystems associated with these tools; hosts events and virtual spaces that increase collaboration and knowledge-sharing among projects, community members, end-users, and volunteers; and helps tackle the obstacles that the circumvention tech community faces.Open Internet Tools Project is based in New York, United States.
