Operation R&R is a non-profit organization designed to provide our service men and women an opportunity to reconnect with their spouses and children upon their return from Iraq or Afghanistan.Operation R&R Charleston gives service men and women who have been recently deployed an opportunity to reconnect and strengthen relationships with their families, thereby helping to reduce some of the negative effects of reintegration. Families accepted into the program are awarded a four to seven day stay in donated homes and condos in the Charleston area between September and May. In addition, local restaurants and attractions offer deep discounts for food and activities.Our greeter program partners local volunteers with a Citadel Cadet who together make necessary arrangements prior to families' arrival and welcome them at the Citadel Alumni House or other designated area on campus. Families are offered a tour of The Citadel campus, are given a packet of information and then follow their greeter to their vacation home.
