The Orchestre classique de Montréal (OCM) is in its 83rd season as a professional ensemble. The orchestra has toured widely, presenting concerts in 17 countries on five continents to great critical acclaim. The OCM has recorded extensively for CBC Records, ATMA and Analekta, and has appeared regularly on radio and television for CBC and Radio-Canada. Boris Brott, eldest son of Alexander, was the orchestra's artistic director from 2005 to 2022. Today the OCM is one of the oldest and most renowned ensembles in Canada which is now in residence at Montreal's beautiful Salle Pierre-Mercure of the Centre Pierre-Péladeau. Believing strongly in music education, the OCM also presents a series of youth concerts. It regularly collaborates with organizations such as the Festival Montréal en Lumière, Montreal Bach Festival, Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, the Consulate General of Poland, the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal, and several other prominent Montreal organizations.The mission of the OCM is to present high quality musical performances, collaborate with a variety of cultural organizations, promote music education, and champion Canadian and, in particular, Quebec talent.
