Otago Angels Limited is a private network of 80 select individuals that was formed in 2006 to invest in and support early stage companies based in the Upstart Business Incubator. Our brief was widened in 2011 to include equity projects for start-up companies generally in the Otago region and joint/syndicated investment projects with other New Zealand Angel networks. We act as a facilitator to connect Otago and Southern entrepreneurs with the investment and expertise they need to strategically grow their businesses. The network is based in Dunedin with a strong satellite group Queenstown. Investment meetings are scheduled in both centres when companies have passed our screening processes and are ready to present their businesses to potential investors. Other meetings are arranged as required – usually to hear a visiting expert and exchange views on investment experiences. Members will be advised by email of such events..
