According to the FDA, Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) are the 4​th leading death cause in the US. Annually, they cause 100,000 death cases, 2 million serious cases, and economical expenditure of $130 billions. About 50%-​70% of them are preventable, if the risk are known and understood in a proper timing. Drug safety issues are major problem for the pharmaceutical industry. Unknown ADRs may affect many patients before the pharma company will have a chance to minimise the risks, thus they may remove best selling products from the market, expose the pharma companies to litigations, and even risk the very existence of the pharma company.
