Photodex started to develop an application that allowed anyone, regardless of their experience, to create a beautiful photo slideshow and in November of 2002 the very first version of ProShow was released. It instantly set a new standard for slideshows. In 2005 the ProShow line was expanded to include Producer, a professional tool for photographers and business users.When Photodex decided to stop development of ProShow part of their development team pressed forward with a plan to continue offering fresh innovative ways for customers to create and share their digital memories. Photopia ICT B.V. was formed by these ProShow developers and their new generation of slideshow creation tools, Photopia Creator and Director, were soon released.
