Pledger was a community initiative driven by a team of dedicated individuals who wanted to see a tangible difference in South African collectivism. The idea stemmed from a frustration with the lack of access to organisations and individuals doing good. It was clear that there was an opportunity to harness the skills, time and resources of interested community members in such a way that existing organisations and causes could get better support. Pledger took the form of a mobile app that used geo-location and keywords to connect volunteers to causes.
