PriMe Tech has developed and patented a platform technology that allows us to deposit, by means of 2D printing, biological drugs on the surface of ultra-thin sheets or films. These films are arranged on the inside of the patient's cheek, allowing for easy administration of medications via the mouth. Compared to the oral route, the buccal route offers advantages, such as high blood flow, easy access for administration or interruption of therapy, and low enzyme content (compared to the gastrointestinal tract). To date, PriMe has satisfactory laboratory results validating prototype insulin-printed films, demonstrating excellent permeation from the film into the animal's tissue, and improved insulin bioavailability in mice compared to similar studies. Our technology would eliminate the need for painful and inconvenient injections, leading to a total paradigm shift in insulin administration, resulting in increased treatment adherence, reduced manufacturing and application costs, and, above all, improved quality of life for patients.
