Since its inception in 2013, ReNewGen has trained a large number of young people in basic entrepreneurship and renewable energy skills, and has enabled groups of people to set up their own businesses, with different concepts and solutions depending on the needs and local opportunities.Currently established in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan and Burundi, the company has implemented various facilities, both small and medium-sized - off-grid and on-grid. The facilities and activities are closely supported, both technically and commercially, by Norwegian founder and CEO Are Larsen Otterdal.The ReNewGen concept focuses on enabling talented and dedicated individuals to generate their own income by selling innovative solutions to improve livelihoods and protect the environment. The key is the focus on products and services encompassing renewable energy technology. RNG specializes in small and medium sized domestic solar installations as well as back-up and pico systems distribution. The company also organizes training sessions for young entrepreneurs on renewable energy and related business aspects.
