RMH focuses on teacher professional development, including coaching and certification test support. Since developing curricula from the early years of teaching high school, my goals for RMH are to develop content-rich highly engaging curricula that support students and teachers academically while giving them tools to meet arbitrary outside demands like standardized tests. My goals are the recruitment and retention of diverse, highly qualified teachers for the field of education, smooth college transitions for students in education majors, a love of real learning for all who participate in our PDs, and a moratorium on most standardized testing K-12 and professional. Our model of responsive professional development for novice and practicing teachers is a dignified alternative to most PDs and test preparation offered in NYC and NYS and has led to over 300 teacher certifications in NYC.
