SOUTHERN DOMESTIC ABUSE SERVICE (SDAS) is a charity providing services to women, children and men affected by domestic abuse.Through our work we aim to:* Provide a safe environment where survivors of domestic abuse can rebuild their lives* Break the cycle of abuse through interventions with survivors, potential victims and perpetrators* Empower all victims of abuse to live lives free from violence and fear* Raise awareness, provide education and improve understanding about domestic abuse amongst the general public* Provide advice, support and information to those affected by domestic abuse, whether living in a refuge, staying in their own homes or moving on to new accommodationWe aim to achieve this through:* Refuge accommodation* Safeguarding advice to women in refuges and in their own homes* Bespoke group work and workshops for adults* Activities, support and counselling for children* Resettlement services* Independent Domestic Violence Advocate Services* Family Support work* Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) supportSDAS was originally set up in 1977 as Havant Women's Aid, changing its name in 2012 to reflect the inclusive nature and growing geographic coverage of the services available.SDAS is a member of the Women's Aid Federation of England.
