The SUNY Westchester Peekskill Center for the Digital Arts, established in 1994, stands as a cornerstone in the vibrant downtown artist district of Peekskill. As the center gears up to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024, it proudly reflects on its rich history and looks forward to continued growth and engagement.Academic Offerings: The center is committed to providing diverse educational opportunities. It offers a range of technology workforce training programs and credit courses each semester. The English Language Institute supports students from various countries.Artistic Endeavors: The center actively contributes to the artistic community through public lectures and year-round gallery exhibitions. It fosters creativity and innovation through various initiatives.Workforce Development Certificates: The center caters to adult professional learners with workforce development certificates in User Experience Design (UX), Digital Photography, 3D Animation, Social Media Specialist, Historic Preservation, Web Design, and Mixed Reality (XR). A new Illustration and 2D Animation Certificate will be introduced in Fall 2024.Youth Arts Technology Program: The center's dynamic STEAM summer Youth Arts Technology Program allows young people to develop digital arts portfolios within a collegiate environment. Additionally, fine arts courses with local artists enrich drawing and painting skills for both professional and personal use.Community Engagement: As a liaison between the college and the community, the center actively hosts gallery exhibitions, lectures, and events.
