Salveson Adaptive is a charity specialising in offering development opportunities to disabled teenagers through adaptive winter sports activities. The 5 words we use to describe ourselves are Develop, Challenge, Overcome, Inspire, Meet.Our vision for Young People: Salveson Adaptive provides excellent opportunities to develop disabled teenagers. Each year, we take a group of young people to specialist disabled winter sports centers, using a range of adaptive sports equipment and instructors to challenge the youngsters to overcome their disabilities and partake in exciting sports that the rest of us take for granted. We hope to inspire the young people and help them meet new friends with challenges of their own.Our vision for Volunteers: Salveson Adaptive provides great opportunities to develop a group of energetic and enthusiastic volunteers. We take a team of people, usually not from the care trade, and challenge them to try something new, quite often outside their comfort zone, perhaps having to overcome personal fears or confidence issues of their own at the same time. They get to meet and work with disabled teenagers, leading them on a trip of a lifetime. This will change the lives of the young people and the volunteers at the same time, and we hope to inspire you to get involved in further work in the voluntary sector.
