St Ignatius Centre is a Charitable Community Benefit Society, with registration number 7436, established on October 31, 2016 under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.We support people around Salford and beyond to collaborate to identify shared issues and possible solutions, act on ideas of mutual benefit and allow the community to engage much more with decision makers, making it easier for discussion and dialogue to happen between residents and decision makers.Our vision:To be a unique and thriving multi-purpose community enterprise venue at the heart of the New Barracks Estate.Our Objectives:The objectives of St Ignatius Centre are to;Conserve, protecting, improving and manage the former St Ignatius Rectory and the St Ignatius of Antioch former Church Ordsall and make them available for use by the public, including use for:a. training, meetings, lectures, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, fitness classes, workshop spaces, other social events; andb. other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the objective of improving the conditions and life chances of the community members.Use heritage, art and culture to improve social mobility and increase life chances for the community.Promote social inclusion for the community to prevent people from becoming socially excluded, relieve the needs of those who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.
