Boston Strength & Mechanics – Inspiring Young People to Understand their StrengthsStrength & Mechanics helps young people discover and understand their strength through triathlon training, STEM theory, and hands on mechanical instruction.Through weekly training sessions that consist of both challenging physical training, scientific theory supporting both the physiological aspects and physics of mechanics and dynamics, and practical instruction in machine build the student is introduced into the concepts of strength and mechanics. The target population are at-risk high school students and students who normally would not have the means to engage in this type of activity. Imagine learning about rotational dynamics and the physiology of power delivery and using that knowledge to assure the bicycle is properly tuned and maximum athletic performance is delivered; all in beautiful New England outdoor settings. A unique learning environment reinforced by real world application and a significant amount of fun.Strength & Mechanics is powered by Dreamfar Triathlon and Dreamfar High School Marathon; organizations with over a decade of experience training young people in marathon and triathlon. Both are recognized Boston institutions. Greater Boston bicycle shops, mechanics, teachers, triathletes, and trainers provide additional support.Strength & Mechanics will be its own USA Triathlon (USAT) certified team apart from Dreamfar Triathlon in 2018 so that it can have its own board and leadership to help guide it.Goals of Strength and MechanicsStrength and Mechanics strives to show the real world applications of scientific theory, mathematics, and endurance training and how they can awaken and transform mind and body.
