We are building a platform for metabolic engineering of moss. Initially we are using that platform to engineering Orbella Fragrant Moss but as a photosynthetic eukaryote there are many other potential applications. Transgenic moss can be used for producing pharmacuticals, inputs for novel food applications (eg specific proteins, lipids or carbohydrates), high value chemicals and other novel applications (eg bio-sensing).Our first product is Orbella Fragrant Moss.
