The Bahamas Hotel and Restaurant Employers' Association (BHEA) represents the interests of the country's leading employers in the hotel and tourism industry. The BHEA strives to achieve and maintain a stable industrial relations environment in the hotel sector of The Bahamas through understanding and mutual respect between Employers and Employees. By doing so, the BHEA will contribute to the continued development and expansion of the Tourism sector of The Bahamas and maximize its contribution to the local economy.HISTORYThe Bahamas Hotel Employers' Association is an Association registered under the laws of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (i.e. the Industrial Relations Act, 1970 and its amendments) whose operations are governed by its constitution which was dated and ratified on November 22nd, 1979. The registered office of the BHEA is on the Second Floor Fort Nassau, British Colonial Hilton Nassau, N.P., The Bahamas. Among the primary objectives of the BHEA are the following:• To regulate the relations between its members and their employees;• To enter into agreements with recognized Unions for the regulation of wages and conditions of employment of the employees of its members; and • To encourage the development and expansion of the Hotel, Restaurant and Allied Industry sectors in the Bahamas.• The BHEA is a Trade Union of Employers.
