The Great Raleigh Cleanup is a nonprofit, volunteer lead organization that aims to rid Raleigh of its litter problem. We do this with our volunteer group cleanups in which we remove litter in of high traffic areas, trails and streams. We also advocate for proper recycling practices as well as community education and advocacy on the importance of protecting the environment.In addition to our group cleanup, we have also launched our Adopt the Block program that equips residence with the necessary tools to maintain small areas near them and keep them litter free. We also have our Cleaning up Raleigh... together' program in which we host cleanups for companies or other organizations. We find a safe area, usually a greenway or park, where members of a group, and their children can gain the satisfaction of helping to beautify and area and help the planet.
