Started in 2016, The Gumbo Gourmet began as a way to bring friends, family and the community together over a pot of comfort and love. Now, having shipped gumbo from Atlanta to the midwest and even the west coast, as well as, serving a short list of die-hard foodies who absolutely look forward to gumbo season year over year, we are taking the leap to open our first brick and mortar restaurant.In its infancy, as the primary means of distribution, The Gumbo Gourmet utilized a tent and table set up. We leveraged opportunities at the Food Truck park, as well as, participating as a vendor in various events across the city. Local sales were focused on office and party catering, as well as, deliveries within the proximity of the Atlanta area.Due to the cross-country exposure, a demand for The Gumbo Gourmet became evident in places from Chicago and Michigan, to as far as California. In 2017, we started shipping to anywhere in the continental US. While catering and shipping will still be a part of the business model, we are looking forward to serving the Atlanta market.
